The Scribbleverse is a short film by director Kyle Dykes of Spacesuit Productions, chronicling the journey of artist Donald Ross—better known as “Scribe.” The film offers a quick yet vivid look at Scribe’s early inspirations, from cartoons to street art, and his work in the healthcare field. At its heart, the collaboration encourages creatives to reflect on their roots, embrace the building blocks of inspiration, and remain open to where those influences can lead. It’s a call to make art and strive to be a positive force in the world.
I recently began learning some animation techniques and have just completed my very first project. It’s an animated piece set to a song titled Khemistry, created by my friends Basement Khemist. They wrote this song inspired by my character Rumpus, who appears in the book Resound Fields. This collaboration brought together my visual storytelling and their musical creativity in a unique way.
